EN General Description Friday prayer is a prayer that takes place every Friday after the time for the noon prayer begins at midday after the sun has passed its zenith. It is required that two sermons be preceded by two sermons before the prayer. The khateeb begins with the first Friday sermon, then sits at a short interval, and then rises for the second sermon. Friday prayer is a public prayer consisting of only two rak’ahs, and it is the only public prayer in broad daylight without the rest of the daytime prayers. The Islamic jurists differed over determining the minimum number by which Friday prayer is obligatory. Some of them said that if there are forty people in one of the towns who meet the previous conditions, then the Friday prayer is obligatory, and some of them obligated it with less than that number, and there are those who said that it is possible to hold two worshipers.

AR General Description صلاة الجمعة هي صلاة تقام كل يوم جمعة بعد دخول وقت صلاة الظهر في منتصف النهار بعد زوال الشمس. ويشترط أن يتقدمها خطبتان قبل الصلاة، يبدأ الخطيب بخطبة الجمعة الأولى ثم يجلس بفاصل يسير ثم يقوم للخطبة الثانية. وصلاة الجمعة صلاة جهرية تتكون من ركعتين فقط، وهي الصلاة الجهرية الوحيدة في وضح النهار دون بقية الصلوات النهارية، وصلاة الجمعة فرض عين على كل المسلمين الذكور الأحرار البالغين المقيمين المستوطنين في أبنية إن كانوا غير معذورين. واختلف فقهاء الإسلام على تحديد أقل عدد تجب به صلاة الجمعة فمنهم من قال إن كان في بلدة من البلدات أربعون ممن تنطبق عليهم الشروط السابقة فتجب عندها صلاة الجمعة ومنهم من أوجبها بأقل من ذلك العدد وهناك من قال إنها من الممكن أن تعقد بمصليين اثنين.
